
Bishop Donald Hying
Bishop Donald Hying returned home to Wisconsin this past spring as the newly appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Madison. He was Bishop of Gary, Indiana, since 2015. Previously, he was the Auxiliary Bishop in the Milwaukee Archdiocese. A West Allis native, Bishop Hying earned a Bachelor’s degree in history, philosophy and theology from Marquette University, followed by a Master’s of Divinity degree from St. Francis de Sales Seminary. He was ordained a priest in Milwaukee in 1989. In his new role, he will oversee 104 parishes and about 285,000 parish members.
